Purpose of the project / Program Overview:
Launched on 1st April 2026, the SHINE Project is a focused initiative aimed at supporting children with Cerebral Palsy (CP) across select locations in Bihar. The project is currently reaching 200 children- 50 in Raxaul, 100 in Gahiri, and 50 in Jamalpur, providing targeted care, support, and opportunities for improved quality of life.
This initiative is a top-up grant to an existing project, further strengthening ongoing efforts to enhance the reach and quality of support for children with CP.
The initiative offers a comprehensive blend of home-based therapy, centre-based therapy, medical consultation, parental counselling, capacity building, and community sensitization. Through this structured and compassionate approach, SHINE seeks to address the unique developmental needs of children with CP, while also empowering their families and caregivers with essential knowledge and resources.
The project envisions creating an enabling environment where every child can thrive with dignity and inclusion.
